Dr. Aaron Welk shares his world-renowned expertise with us and his experience with the Tri Auto ZX2. He explains his practical and efficient approach to treatment using the Tri Auto ZX2 and helps us to understand how the product is being used in the operatory.
At Morita, we are confident that our products and services are innovative and geared towards the future of dentistry. Despite our passion, it is without a doubt that we cannot achieve our goals without the expertise of our customers and partners. Together we form the perfect team.
During these trying times, we had to find alternative ways of communicating with you. We miss being able to talk to you in person at conventions and on-site workshops. Virtual events may not feel the same, but they allow us to exchange our knowledge wherever we may be in the world.
Tri Auto ZX2: Dr. Aaron Welk Shares his Unique Workflow
In 2020, we offered numerous webinars ranging from product sales to education and knowledge exchange. In the fall, we collaborated with Dr. Aaron Welk. He shared his world-renowned expertise with us and his experience with the Tri Auto ZX2. While we understand how well the Tri Auto ZX2 works from an engineering point of view, Dr. Welk brings his practical and efficient approach to the table allowing us to understand how the product is being used in the operatory.
During this webinar, Dr. Welk defines and explains the basic functions of the Tri Auto ZX2 and their utility. He focuses on functions like Optimum Torque Reverse (OTR), Optimum Glide Path (OGP), and Electric Method of Root Assessment (EMR). He also gives us a brief overview of the clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) motion settings. In addition, Dr. Welk reveals his signature hand positioning technique and guides us through a complete workflow using the Tri Auto ZX2.
Dr. Welk explains that the OTR feature provides tactile feedback, in a similar manner that traditional rotary files do, greatly minimizing file breakage and improving workflow efficiency. He also mentions that OTR increases cyclic fatigue resistance when comparing it to a continuous rotation application.
Optimum Glide Path (OGP)
When negotiating a glide path, Dr. Welk recommends using the Optimum Glide Path (OGP) setting. This feature allows him to easily achieve apical patency and he especially enjoys using it on elderly patients making his workflow even more efficient. He has noticed reduced fatigue while using OGP. In the webinar, he shows us the details behind this innovative technology which uses a combination of watch-winding and balanced force techniques.
Electric Method of Root Assessment (EMR)
Simply put, EMR uses the same trusted technology found in apex locators, such as the Root ZX, but in a much more ergonomic form factor. Dr. Welk loves this feature and compares it to an ‘’adaptive cruise control’’. In the lesson, he demonstrates his approach to using this cordless feature. If we could describe EMR in two words they would be ‘’efficient and automated’’.
Dr Welk’s Experience: Hand Positioning Technique
Through his years of experience, Dr. Welk has developed an optimal hand positioning technique by fully utilizing the Tri Auto ZX2’s rotating handpiece. He can adjust the position of the handpiece no matter how challenging the angle.
Complete Workflow and Communication with Dental Assistant
Doctor Welk guides us through a simple case giving us a step-by-step solution. He also demonstrates the importance of achieving symbiosis between Doctor and Assistant. By training with his assistant, he has achieved optimal treatment efficiency.
